Impressions

Impressions are the total number of times a post was shown on screen, counting repeat views from the same person.

In more detail

Impressions count every time your content appears, even if the same person sees it three times. That is the key difference from reach, which counts unique people only. Because of repeats, impressions are almost always higher than reach. The number tells you how often your content surfaced in feeds, stories, and search, which is a useful signal for how hard the algorithm is pushing a post and how often people scroll past it.

Example

If your post reaches 1,000 people and 300 of them see it twice, you have 1,000 reach but 1,300 impressions. Divide impressions by reach (1.3 here) to get your average frequency, or how many times each person saw the post.

RedaQuest analytics pulls impressions next to reach and engagement for every post, so you can see how often your content showed up and whether people actually acted on it.

FAQ

Impressions, answered.

What is the difference between impressions and reach?
Impressions count total views including repeats. Reach counts unique people. One person who sees a post twice adds 2 impressions but 1 to reach.
Are more impressions always better?
Not on their own. High impressions with low engagement can mean people keep scrolling past. Look at impressions alongside clicks and engagement to judge if the content is working.
